About
Hi, I'm Sravya!
Or, if you've been around since 2020, you probably know me as “Appadam.”
I started my Instagram page in 2020 as a place to share food, and somewhere along the way, Appadam of My Eye became much more than that. It became a record of what I was cooking, experimenting with, learning, laughing about, and occasionally wondering, “Will this actually work?”
My cooking journey started pretty simply. The first dish I ever made was rasmalai from a Gits packet in 7th grade. From there, I started getting curious about things my mom didn't typically make at home—pasta, paneer dishes, and whatever else caught my attention. I loved figuring things out for myself, tweaking recipes, taking shortcuts, and eventually making them my own.
My family is from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, and the food I grew up around naturally became the foundation of how I cook. But growing up in the US meant my kitchen was never limited to one kind of food. These days, you'll find Telugu and Indian favorites alongside everyday vegetarian meals, fusion experiments, creative shortcuts, and recipes inspired by whatever I'm craving.
Appadam of My Eye is where I share all of it.
The recipes I grew up with. The recipes I'm still learning. The things I make all the time. The ideas that somehow work. And, every once in a while, the ones that make me wonder why I tried them in the first place.
So pull up a chair, tell me what's in your fridge, and let's figure out what to make.
