About our tags

How we tag recipes

Cuisine / Influence

These tags describe culinary influence — not authenticity claims. Telugu, South Indian, and Indian are related but not interchangeable: Telugu is more specific, South Indian is broader, and Indian covers Indian-influenced plates that don't fit a tighter regional tag.

Effort vs time

Effort is about active work, not the clock. A 45-minute recipe can be Easy if most of that time is hands-off. A short recipe can be High if it needs constant attention.

Dietary: Yes / Adaptable / No

Yes means the recipe fits as written. Adaptable means a straightforward swap or removal gets you there. No means it would take a substantial rewrite. Planner dietary pills (Vegan, nOnG, Nut-free) accept Yes or Adaptable.

Meal Type, Main Format, Base Carb

Meal Type is when/how you usually eat it (Main, Side, Snack…). Commas create separate tags; this page only suggests Mains. Main Format is the plate shape. Format pills mostly follow Base Carb / Categories / Cuisine — see docs/meal-planner-tag-definitions.md.
